More Products

Lakewood Automation represents a number of very innovative manufacturers who in turn release a large number of new products every year. This newsletter only focused on a few products from one manufacturer. To view more new products on our website, click here.

Dear All,

In this issue of our newsletter, we would like to introduce you to some of Omron's EtherCAT products including the G5 Servo Drive, the MX2 Variable Frequency Drive and the new EtherCAT options on the CJ series of PLCs. As always, we have also included links to some of our upcoming classes and the latest Tech-Connect documents that we have created.
Omron G5 Servo Drives on EtherCAT

Omron G5 Drive with EtherCAT

Omron Industrial Automation now offers a complete line of compact Accurax G5 servo drives with built-in, EtherCAT communications to meet the growing need for high-speed, precise motion control as part of whole machine automation. The servo drives are certified compatible by the EtherCAT Technology Group. Omron selected the EtherCAT real-time I/O network as its I/O fieldbus of choice because it enables a seamless convergence of sequence control, motion control with servo and variable frequency drives, vision inspection, and high-speed I/O.
Omron's Accurax G5 Servo system provides machine builders with simple-to-use capabilities to build more accurate, faster, smaller and safer machines. The G5 servo motors (R88M-KN_) have been scaled to provide an almost 25 percent reduction in motor weight. Side-by-side mounting of G5 servo drives (R88D-KN_-ECT) saves 50 percent cabinet space. In combination, they deliver submicron precision and millisecond settling time.

CJ EtherCAT Modules

Omron offers a full range of PLC-based position and motion control solutions. From 2 axis to 30 axis of coordinated Motion control. From simple point-to-point to more complex coordinated control Omron offers a wide range of PLC based modules with Motion Control Network capabilities. PLC based position control units are available with pulse output, network interface and various levels of servo motion functionality. Mechatrolink-II and EtherCAT network options expand performance and node monitoring capabilities; synchronize up to 16 axis of servo motion; and integrate architecture solutions.
New Tech-Connect Documents

A Tech-Connect document is a downloadable file, created by Lakewood Automation, containing the basic information needed to get two or more pieces of equipment working together.

MS4800 to SR102AM or SR103AM - These drawings will explain how to wire the Omron STI MS4800 light curtain to either an Omron STI SR102AM or SR103AM safety relay.

EStop to SR102AM or SR103AM - These drawings will explain how to wire a two-channel Emergency Stop to either an Omron STI SR102AM or SR103AM safety relay.

EStop with F3SJ to SR102AM or SR103AM - These drawings will explain how to wire a two-channel Emergency Stop with an Omron F3SJ light curtain to either an Omron STI SR102AM or SR103AM safety relay.

EStop with MS4800 to SR102AM or SR103AM - These drawings will explain how to wire a two-channel Emergency Stop with an Omron STI MS4800 light curtain to either an Omron STI SR102AM or SR103AM safety relay.

Two Hand Control to SR104P - These drawings will explain how to wire a two-hand control buttons to an Omron STI SR104P safety relay.

G9SP with Numerous Devices - These drawings will explain how to wire the numerous safety devices to an Omron STI G9SP programmable safety controller. The input devices include an Omron STI MS4800 light curtain, Omron F3SJ light curtain, Omron STI OS32C safety laser scanner, two-channel door switch, two-channel safety mat, and two-channel Emergency Stop. There is a sample program showing four possible safety zones for this hypothetical system.

Hyper Terminal in Windows 7 - Hyper Terminal is a very useful tool to test communications between your PC and other serial and network devices. However Microsoft Windows 7 does not include this tool anymore. This document will show where to put the correct files to make the old hyper terminal work on a Windows 7 PC.

CJ1M to E5CN (CompowayF) and V1000 (Modbus) - This document will show you how to setup the communications to the Omron E5CN Temperature Controller via Compoway/F and the Yaskawa V1000 Drive via Modbus.
